WORKING “THE SHIELD”

SOLD

I’ve spent a lot of time “plein air” painting. I highly recommend it as it gives you a different perspective and heightens your powers of observation. You’ll also have a story to tell with each painting and you meet some really fine people.

The Brook paintin

THE BROOK

16” X 24”

The babbling sound caught my attention. I wandered off the trail and found the brook. Trout darted away as I approached and readied myself to paint.

NOVEMBER TAMARACKS

24” X 30”

Solitude and Tamaracks, hard to beat, two of my favourite things. I have often used this composition in many paintings. I usually change the season, the background, the rocky ledges, add sky, but I come back to this theme often.

White Water painting

WHITE WATER

16” X 24”

I have referred to myself as the “Man Who Loved Rivers” I painted people fishing, canoeing and sometimes, just rivers. I particularly like whitewater as it brings an energy to the work.

REFLECTIONS, SMOKE CREEK

8”X10”

Painted from a canoe. Smoke Creek connects Smoke Lake and Tea Lake. It looks like drowned land and there are many stumps to avoid whilst canoeing. It has an interesting and colourful shoreline.
